Documentation : Features : Alarms
ErgoNotes includes an 'Alarms' feature to help you keep track of specific and regular events in your life. These alarms are embedded in the ErgoNotes documents in your information tree and you can place them according to your convenience.
For example, you can embed an alarm reminding you of a monthly payment in the section of ErgoNotes document devoted to your finances. When the alarm goes off, you can go straight to the source of the alarm and review the information in that section.
There are five types of alarms:
- A single alarm that goes off only once on a specified date, at a certain time
- A daily alarm that goes off daily at specific time
- A weekly alarm that goes off on specified days of the week at a specific time
- A monthly alarm that goes off every month on a specified day of the month at a specific time
- A yearly alarm that goes off annually on a specified date and time
So, suppose you want your ErgoNotes to...
remind you about tomorrows meeting notify you about weekly appointments or remind you of your grandfathers birthday |
wake you up in the morning remind of your monthly payments |
Then you just need to...
1) Instead of typing in the node name, type in what time the alarm should go off 2) Type in a description/reason for the alarm (multi-line descriptions are made possible for your convenience) |
4) The node icon should turn into a blue clock indicating that this node is now an alarm. If the name typed into the node does not correspond to a valid format, an error message will appear directing you to a 'Help' section with a list of valid formats 3) Tap the clock icon in the toolbox |
5) You must save the document in order to activate the newly-created alarm |
At the time when an alarm goes off, you will be presented with five options:
A 'light bulb' notification icon indicates that ErgoNotes alarm has gone off. Along with showing the icon ErgoNotes plays sound and vibrate your PDA ErgoNotes can cause the alarm to go off 10 minutes later ErgoNotes can open your document pointing to the place where the alarm is located |
ErgoNotes can close the reminder. However, the alarm will still continue to function ErgoNotes can delete the alarm forever and it will cease to function |
ErgoNotes can just leave the notification open |
You can look at a list of all scheduled notifications at any time using the alarm manager:

Date and time when alarm should go off |

If you want to delete an alarm, you can do so by using either the alarm manager, or by tapping the clock icon in the toolbox, as you did when you first created the alarm |
